Afghanistan announced their 15-man team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in the USA and the West Indies. Rashid Khan will captain the team.
In comparison to the 2022 edition, Afghanistan has added a few players to their roster: Karim Janat, Mohammad Ishaq, and Noor Ahmad are all included.
Hashmatullah Shahidi, who captained Afghanistan in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, is absent from the team considering he hasn’t played in a Twenty20 international match since 2022.
Nangyal Kharoti, who earned his debut for Afghanistan against Ireland in March of this year, is also included in the squad. In that series, the 20-year-old made an impression with five wickets at an economy of just 5.90 in three games.
Mohammad Ishaq, Afghan wicketkeeper batter who competed in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cups in 2020 and 2022, is another young player who has secured a ticket.

With assistance from Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, Nangyal Kharoti, and seasoned Mohammad Nabi, Rashid will serve as the department’s leader.
Afghanistan’s fast-bowling lineup still consists of Naveen-ul-Haq, Fareed Ahmad, and Fazalhaq Farooq.
