Borussia Dortmund host PSG at the Signal Iduna Park for the first leg of the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Both teams overcame wild quarterfinal matches to go to the round of four, and Dortmund will play in their first Champions League semifinal since losing to Bayern Munich in an all-German championship match eleven years ago.
With 20 minutes left in the match, BVB beat Atletico Madrid 5-4 on aggregate to advance, having trailed 4-3 at one point. PSG had to come back from behind in their quarterfinal match as well, but they advanced as 6-4 aggregate winners thanks to a Barcelona collapse that saw them win 4-1 in Barcelona.
Over the weekend, Luis Enrique’s team was officially crowned Ligue 1 champions. They will be confident going into Wednesday’s first leg against a Dortmund team that was soundly defeated 4-1 by RB Leipzig on Saturday. Dortmund may need to win the whole thing in order to guarantee their spot in the Champions League for 2024–2025.

Borussia Dortmund team news
Ramy Bensebaini, who has been sidelined for some time with a knee ailment, will not be available for Dortmund, while Sebastien Haller is also out with an ankle problem.

Despite reportedly having a knock, Mats Hummels is expected to be well enough to play on Wednesday. Despite his unlikely start due to a thigh injury, Donyell Malen might be included in Edin Terzic’s matchday squad.
PSG team news
Bradley Barcola has been played wide left with Kylian Mbappe up top, and Enrique has found success with this combination. The Spaniard may start an identical lineup from the second leg in Barcelona, and we should witness that dynamic again in Dortmund.

PSG’s injury report is not particularly concerning, but they will be without Layvin Kurzawa, Sergio Rico, and Presnel Kimpembe.
