India release their squad for the T20 World Cup

India become the fourth team to announce their 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.

As expected, Rohit Sharma will lead the men in blue with Hardik Pandya as the vice-captain with Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav leading the batting lineup. Yuzvendra Chahal is brought back to the squad after his absence in the ODI World Cup 2023 and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant makes exceptional return after that horrifying car accident.

Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal make their first appearance in any ICC event for the senior men’s India side after having picked up exceptional form over the last year or so.

India go with an experienced spin lineup with Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav whereas young-gun Arshdeep Singh is picked for the pace lineup alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

High-flying Rinku Singh has however only managed a reserve spot.
