Taskin Ahmed has etched his name in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) history with the best-ever bowling figures in the tournament, claiming an incredible 7 wickets for just 19 runs against the Dhaka Capitals surpassing Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir’s record set five years ago.
Taskin began his spell with the new ball, taking two wickets in his first two overs while conceding only 14 runs. However, it was his breathtaking death-over performance that stole the show. Taskin’s final two overs yielded five wickets for just five runs, making him virtually unplayable. His exceptional effort dismantled the Dhaka Capitals’ momentum who were looking to post a big total.
Taskin’s record-breaking spell restricted the Dhaka Capitals to a total of 174/9, as his bowling spell delivered a decisive blow during the death overs, cementing his place in BPL history.
